Designer Highlight-Kelly Santi!!

Hello everyone! I hope you had a good holiday/holidays. It is my pleasure today to bring you another edition of Designer Highlight and introduce you to the fabulous Kelly Santi!!! Take it away Kelly.

Hi! I'm Kelly, a christian wife, mom, daughter, sister and happy paper crafter! Dh and I live in South Florida with our great kids, 3 daughters and 1 son but my heart longs for Germany ♥. I have been scrapbooking since I was 16 and enjoy creating and preserving our family legacy in our scrapbooks! My other hobbies are: I'm an avid book reader, book reviewer, aspiring writer and can often be found at my children's schools, volunteering or at the beach! :)

Today's project is a herd of Riley the Moose bookmarks! Inspired by my son who loves to read, I made a jar of bookmarks that with jumbo paper clips, stamps, ink, markers, the Cuttlebug and some papers and twine.

I made the bookmarks using Riley in his different characters, which were perfect for the theme of "Book Classics" that I was going for!

While Riley and Co has MANY Rileys in different characters, I picked the ones that he's most inspired to read (you will notice not too many Sophie's made the herd, but check the store - there are so many more!)

My bookmarks were made by stamping the Rileys with Memento Ink onto heavy duty cardstock.

This step is important as they have to hold up! I then ran that through the Cuttlebug in a circular-shaped die, as well as a matching scalloped edge shape with rainbow colored pieces of cardstock.

A bit of adhesive, quick coloring with my Prismacolor markers and some enamel dots and they were finished quickly.

Using a heavy duty glue (I used Aleene's Tacky Glue), secure the clip to the back of the bookmark and allow to dry for 24 hours. And that's it!

My Riley bookmarks were inspired by such characters as Sophie O'Hara (Gone with the Wind) and Snow White Sophie, Wheat Riley (Huckleberry Finn), Old World Riley (Rip Van Winkle), Peter Pan Riley and Captain Hook Riley (Adventures of Peter Pan), Detective Riley (ret'd, Sherlock Holmes), The Moosehatter (Alice in Wonderland) and Riley Pottermoose (Harry Potter)

Lastly, I've used the "Make your life a Fairy Tale" stamp for the tag that is secured with a simple twine.

The bookmarks nestle into the container and can adorn any desk for students, teachers and more!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today . I hope this project inspires you in some way, and encourages some reading as well.

Make sure you take a peek in the store for many of these Riley and Sophie stamps and so many more!

Delightfully Dolores! Mushroom Lane Winter Village!

Hello everyone! It's that time again, you guessed it! Another wonderful edition of Delightfully Dolores is here! Check out the FANTASTIC project she did this month. Take it away, Dolores!

***

Brrrrrrr!  Welcome to winter. This month I've done a Winter Village. The Mushroom Lane houses are as cute as they can be. Riley and Company has these Mushrooms as stamps and coloring books - two coloring books actually.

I had the coloring books a while before I received the stamps. So, I did the unthinkable and fussy cut these from my coloring books.  It does give me the opportunity to get two more and color them in all new colors.  The coloring was done with Copic markers, water color pencils and regular colored pencils. Some of the flowers had to be removed because it is a Winter Village after all.  After all the cutting was done, I attached an easel to the backs to help them stand. I used Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Small Easel die, which made it easy.

There were about 20 Mushrooms standing on my dining room table. They were just so cute there all on their own, but I had to decide where to put them. Easier said than done.  Since I really couldn't decide on one spot, three places seemed good.  First, they went under my snowman Christmas tree. Another 10 could have been placed there.

Next, they all moved up on the mantle (which is my favorite spot). I used some blocks under the "snow" to raise the ones in the back a bit.

Last, I put a few on the tree.  I really liked the look of that. If I had a smaller tree, I would fill it with white lights, snowflakes and each and every Mushroom Lane house!

I hope you will give this a try even if it's only two or three houses. They lend themselves well to glitter and bling as fancy as you would like. Put your favorite one right on your desk. It will make you smile.

Until next month, I wish you all a Very Happy New Year!

I can't get over how awesome this is! And all of that fussy cutting! Worth every minute if you ask me. What a great project Dolores! Be sure to check out all of the Mushroom Lane images HERE
