Hi! I'm Kelly, a christian wife, mom, daughter, sister and happy paper crafter! Dh and I live in South Florida with our great kids, 3 daughters and 1 son but my heart longs for Germany ♥. I have been scrapbooking since I was 16 and enjoy creating and preserving our family legacy in our scrapbooks! My other hobbies are: I'm an avid book reader, book reviewer, aspiring writer and can often be found at my children's schools, volunteering or at the beach! :)
Today's project is a herd of Riley the Moose bookmarks! Inspired by my son who loves to read, I made a jar of bookmarks that with jumbo paper clips, stamps, ink, markers, the Cuttlebug and some papers and twine.
I made the bookmarks using Riley in his different characters, which were perfect for the theme of "Book Classics" that I was going for!
While Riley and Co has MANY Rileys in different characters, I picked the ones that he's most inspired to read (you will notice not too many Sophie's made the herd, but check the store - there are so many more!)
My bookmarks were made by stamping the Rileys with Memento Ink onto heavy duty cardstock.
This step is important as they have to hold up! I then ran that through the Cuttlebug in a circular-shaped die, as well as a matching scalloped edge shape with rainbow colored pieces of cardstock.
A bit of adhesive, quick coloring with my Prismacolor markers and some enamel dots and they were finished quickly.
Using a heavy duty glue (I used Aleene's Tacky Glue), secure the clip to the back of the bookmark and allow to dry for 24 hours. And that's it!
My Riley bookmarks were inspired by such characters as Sophie O'Hara (Gone with the Wind) and Snow White Sophie, Wheat Riley (Huckleberry Finn), Old World Riley (Rip Van Winkle), Peter Pan Riley and Captain Hook Riley (Adventures of Peter Pan), Detective Riley (ret'd, Sherlock Holmes), The Moosehatter (Alice in Wonderland) and Riley Pottermoose (Harry Potter)
Lastly, I've used the "Make your life a Fairy Tale" stamp for the tag that is secured with a simple twine.
The bookmarks nestle into the container and can adorn any desk for students, teachers and more!
Thanks for stopping by the blog today . I hope this project inspires you in some way, and encourages some reading as well.
Make sure you take a peek in the store for many of these Riley and Sophie stamps and so many more!

What a fun project you created. The best ideas you always have! Thanks, for sharing.
What fabulous book markers! And great cards!
I'm madly in love with Germany and your creations! We lived there back in the 60s (yup I be an old duck). How I love the brochen and not-so-sweet desserts. I used to think that people vacuumed the forests because the whole county was absolutely clean!! Went back in 90s and same - ultra clean!!! I have to CASE your beautiful bookmark ideas for all the children in our congregation and grandkids! Love your designs and creations and hope you get to go home to visit soon! ♥
